I feel disconnected..

I feel the disconnect, do you too?

Hi lovelies,

Unlike all other blogs, I am here to say it (finally out loud) : “I FEEL DISCONNECTED”!

I do still believe in the Universe, I just can’t feel the same connect as before.

I know most people would scoff right now, call me crazy, or jobless perhaps – but it was a real concern – so I googled😅

As expected, I got bizzare answers! If not bizzare, a regular repeat of “Meditate more”, “Mindful practices”, “Read more”, “Rest more”…….. All very sound advices, yet nothing inspired me.

To begin with, I don’t know exactly why I feel the disconnect. It is more like a void, with a surge in aggressive emotions : anger, irritation, fear, etc.

Here are my guesses:

Solar eclipse on 8th April, a new moon, chiron being close to moon and the change in seasons : big energy shifts, all at once.

With a huge shift in my routine, a complete shift in life (college ending) and a hectic last week – its not surprising.

I am keeping up with my 92 days challenge (barely! – 22 more days to go!!), however without the same enthusiasm, energy or time.

It’s not because I don’t want to, its because I do not really have the time or energy – with traveling last week to 8 am -10 pm work this week – my life has geared up (not necessarily a fan, nor am I complaining either!).

It feels like I am being pulled out of the hermit mode of February by running chaotically in March and April – not sure “How to get used to it?”

I am here today, with some insights on how to soothe yourself if you are feeling a bit weird (like I am), due to the disconnect & rush modes of life.

Not exactly can I advice on “How to get used to it” or “How to get out” at the moment, but I can offer some insights on how to not fall back completely and wait patiently for the fog to clear, all the while working or having a busy schedule.

If you are ready, let’s dive into it:

Affirm

This is what I told myself, and what I would suggest you to tell yourself during some tough times : “It’s gonna be okay!”, “I am exactly where I am supposed to be”, “This is Universe’s way of preparing myself to enter into the era of my higher self/ to become a higher version of myself”.

I know in moments like this when its hard to believe in Spiritual concepts (I know it is for me, I was doubting every single belief, acts and spiritual concepts I ever came across or worked with), but that’s the test or the challenge! With the eclipse, every shadow aspect of yours has come to the surface (enlarged too), and its not for you to get scared, but to understand them, work with them to heal. To shower it with love, light, compassion and healing energies. Hence, the need for inner work.

Need to release Control & Become Flexible

With feeling less stable and more uncertain, we tend to cling on to some sort of control in some/ any of areas of life.

I was doing the same with my new work, all the while juggling this blog, social media, tuition, relationship, and self care stuff.. It all ended up in a mayhem. And I was pushing myself further down the hole, which made the feelings worse. (including my mental health) (ps: not everything was so bad, I had great experiences both in personal and professional life too, however it did become more enjoyable & appreciable, when I stayed in the present, allowing it space to happen & not controlling every bit of those experiences.)

Even if the best of best things happens to you, you might still feel burdened or overwhelmed due to its magnitude. And in most cases won’t be able to truly enjoy it. For example: I got an opportunity to work at a TIER 1 firm in Bangalore, and I hated the very first day there (an opportunity I probably prayed for once upon a time), I hated it so much on the first day itself, almost cried & tried to quit.

Affirmations above helped me survive. And this awareness that the disconnect I feel is also for a reason (and not just because I don’t have time for the rituals or meditations). So, I decided to not focus on hundred million negative thoughts rushing through my mind, every time something bad, overwhelming or scary happened. I made the decision to wait a day and not rush things.. With time I was soothed.

Mental Health is the most important factor for any & all areas of your life. If you get everything right except a good mental health (even a good mindset for that matter), things will always seem bad. I would advise to start there:

What are the things pulling you down, and why?

Pay extra attention to those and figure out where healing is needed at that moment.

Now, when I say healing : I do not refer to a month long spiritual retreat or therapists or some rituals (although they are great, we here are focusing on a busy schedule).

If you don’t have time to meditate, journal or do some other rituals, it’s still okay. You do not need to define or put boundaries on the inner work.

It is as simple as, focusing on your breath for a minute when you feel uncontrollable anger rising within, sitting back for 5 minutes or even less to understand the why behind it.

I know something went wrong, but why does it have to affect you in that particular manner?

For example: You do not need to yell at everyone around you, just because a cab driver canceled the ride when you were late for a meeting (although I totally understand how annoying and frequent this is, especially here in Bangalore – I book 10 rides and at most times all 10 of them cancel.)

If your emotions or feelings or behavior is not just limited to the scenario at hand, figure out the why behind it.

This activity is not just for when something bad or annoying happens, you can do the same on a happy occasion or on a mundane day, as and when you remember.

With all being said, try becoming more flexible.

For example, I knew my blog content will suffer if I keep continuing the routine, along with my mental health. Hence, I focused on the more urgent tasks at hand, and became more flexible with posting these blogs  (do not like it, but at least this way my content doesn’t suffer, and so won’t my peace of mind). Self care became more basic. However, I did balance it out on weekends.

This brings me to the final point under this subheading :

Prioritize and organize your days or life.

If your to do list looks scary right now, take some time out and simplify, trust me those 20 minutes will save you from a lot of discomfort later.

Listen to your body

Sometimes as I always say, you can try everything from yoga, meditation, diets, productivity, to trips, socializing, clubbing, etc and yet feel blah.

It is because we are constantly trying to follow a routine that is either suited or inspired from someone else or we are simply neglecting our own needs.

Your body knows what it wants, but the noise of outside world, with hundreds of people on social media telling you what “it should need”, is messing with you.

It is very simple, start by observing how your body feels post each activity.

Do you feel bloated after eating certain food? And are you still eating them for some reason?

Do you feel tired even after a good night sleep?

Do you feel sleepy during afternoons?

Compare it to when you felt best in your own body, see what is going wrong. If need be, consult a doctor.

If we are not well (even a poor sleep cycle counts) mentally or physically, we would not be able to focus on our spiritual goals either. Our roots have to be fixed first.

It is simple, if your primary goals are not met, your body is using whatever ounce of energy left to just keep you alive and moving, how do you think you will have any energy to focus on the connecting with the universe.

If you do not mind, going a level deep, you are a part of Universe, connect to yourself first – you do not need to run behind any esoteric concepts, if the most basic is understood.

Do not be overwhelmed by the racing of mind (journal or bullet journal if busy)

I have noticed that my mind has a habit of amplifying things. SO, if I couldn’t do a task properly in my new office, the next thought in my mind was “I am going to get fired”.

Why can’t the thought be “How can I learn from this/How can I improve/How do I make amends?”

I know I am not alone.

This amplification makes things worse, puts us in a state of lack and we attract the lack.

To help myself in these situations (which is 90% of my life) I use Journals. Now, due to lack of time, I can do the same without the journal too, but still journaling really helps.

Let me explain you what exactly to journal and how to do the same if you got no time.

For situations when you have time:

Journal the incident, how it made you feel, what are you feeling in the moment.

What you feel when you finish explaining the situation in your journal entry (sometimes imagine those pages are another person, and you are venting it out – however journal venting is better than in person, for a reasons – it stops & holds those strong emotions rather than influencing other person’s mind or situations – even if they are completely detached, your venting will effect them and vice versa.)

Now think of ways you feel, you can get out of that problem and write them down.

Lastly, write at least 5 gratitude points, how this situation even if you don’t see it yet, is shaping you for the better somehow OR you can simply show gratitude for other things in your life, thereby inducing positive chain of thoughts.

For situations when you don’t have time:

If you have even less than 5 minutes, pick up your phone or diary (notepad/whatsapp/any random paper, etc).

Write about “How/What you are feeling” in 3 to 5 lines max (like a bullet journal). Followed by 2 to 5 points of gratitude towards the situation/person/or anything in general.

The purpose of this exercise was to bring you back to the calmness by focusing on good/ positives. To remind you that yes life can be bad and unfair, but it also got great gifts which sometimes, especially when influenced by heavy emotions, are not easily visible.

On days, when I can’t find time for even a 5 minute activity, I simply close my eyes or focus on one point (anywhere in the room, if in office, focus on the laptop screen to look like you are working; hehe) and do the same in my head.

Allow yourself to feel those emotion and then remind yourself of the good too. I am not saying to be positive or happy all the time, I am simply asking you to remember that there are good things in your life as well : it gives you hope, purpose, direction and most importantly “CALMNESS”.

Perfect for manifestations as well (be mindful of what your are attracting)

It is the time of New Moon (never mind the eclipse), hence the time to sow new seeds, new manifestations. Be mindful of things you are constantly thinking and feeling around this time. You will consciously or unconsciously attract more of those in your life.

If you have time, do the new moon ritual – it will help you with feeling more grounded (connected), calm and will also help in manifesting, along with releasing or cleansing the stuck energies.

Here, the tips from other sources or my previous blogs will help: Meditating, breath work, shadow work, groundedness, cleansing rituals, etc.

Try connecting to the source in your way or just let it be for a while (it might happen naturally)

Coming to this final point, JUST LET IT BE.

Often times, things are beyond our perception. What we might call as discomfort or disconnectedness, might simply be a redirection to better things or situations or an effect of an ongoing shift.

Remember, come back to your breath. Whenever you can, feel the inflow & outflow.

Do not think about it, just become aware. And you will instantly feel a sense of connection. Slowly overtime, you can practice advance practices. But even then, you will always & forever be advised to come back to the same.

Become Present. The connection you seek also seeks you. And it will happen when you let go of the control.

To be completely honest, typing this blog out for you, got me feeling grounded and present.

Life will have ups and down, but remember you are always at all times connected to the source (you are the part of it), doesn’t matter if you are conscious of it or not!

I hope you like my take on this topic.

I hope it helped. Until next time, happy manifesting!!

Catch you soon………………
