3 ordinary things you do every day, that can be turned into a cleansing ritual. (Daily rituals that make life feel calmer.)
After reading many books, listening to numerous podcasts, and watching various spiritual teachers, I still found myself returning to my old problems and experiencing old emotions or the residual effects of other’s energies on me, even after brief interactions.
Being as lazy and busy as our generation can be, I let intense spiritual practices slip away. I simply couldn’t get myself up to do those, despite knowing it will be good for me.
Being a highly sensitive soul, post a heated argument, or people venting or fighting around me, affected me in drastic ways. After a month, despite being a constant meditator, I realized I was constantly anxious, my chest hurt, my throat was blocked, and I had this fear surrounding me, clouding all my thoughts and judgments, at all times.
After some introspection, I realized most of these energies, I was affected by, weren’t even mine.
Hi all,
Welcome back to this flowery part of the internet. Let’s figure out a few ways today to cleanse our physical, emotional, and energetic bodies and live a better, healthier life.
The practices I will mention are already performed by us all on a daily basis, so here I am, providing a slightly different and mindful way to do them, which can help in dealing with some unwanted lingering energies that are pulling you down without you knowing.

It’s very common to hold onto energies that are not good for us.
Imagine you had an argument with your loved one, and despite you knowing that you shouldn’t take it personally or you were not at fault or maybe it did not concern you at all, you keep thinking about it, perhaps even losing your night’s sleep over it, tossing and turning, thinking about every possible scenarios, or things which could have been said or avoided.
Similarly, without you knowing, your subconscious mind and your energetic body absorb so much information that doesn’t even concern you, and if you don’t regulate them well, it can affect not just your mental but also your physical health.
A lot of people experience this differently; some like me are constantly anxious, some irritable and angry for no reason, some get depressed, some even develop physical symptoms like fever. Your emotions, thoughts, aura, and everything determine your overall well-being.

Going to the gym, meditating daily, taking therapy sessions, journaling, spiritual cleaning, and other practices help tremendously, no doubt. But in today’s blog, let’s discuss some non-time-consuming, easy-to-do rituals/practices that can help instantly.
Over time, when these practices become habits, you will see a great surge of improvement in your overall well-being. Pair it with other mindful practices, some of which I mentioned above, and you are sorted to deal with any situation or person in life.
Consider these as your protective armor in life; they protect you even when you think you don’t need protection.
Shower
Whether you are rushing through a 5 minute shower or like to indulge in a 30 minutes one, this practice will be suitable for all.
It’s simple, just become more mindful. Start by observing the temperature of the water touching your skin, followed by how it feels, what you can smell, what you see, what’s the ambiance of your washroom, and finally, what are you thinking?

If you are thinking of that meeting you must rush to, or that argument with your neighbour, or that car you are thinking of buying, whatever the thought may be, pause. And just focus on how the water feels on your body, close your eyes, imagine water falling and going into the drain, is cleaning you and all the impurities of thoughts, actions, beliefs, etc. are being washed away. Feel lighter and calmer with each drop.
Finally, when you feel lighter (I generally imagine being covered in a white light), now is the time to think (if you want to). Think positive thoughts; you can use affirmations or simply visualize how great your day is going to be.
End by slightly changing the temperature of the water and visualizing that this water has formed a protective layer (an energetic protection) over your body. Feel and say out loud that you are safe, protected, and divinely guided by the Universe.
That’s all, you are now good to go and seize the day!
A simple mindful practice to help you elevate your vibration as well. You can use this method for anything anywhere like mindfully eating, playing, reading, etc.
Praying
Even if you don’t pray regularly, take 2 minutes out.
Now, this practice is not to change how you pray, but maybe just add a small step into your already existing ritual.
No need to light a diya or incense if you don’t already. Just sit and meditate for 2 to 5 minutes. Try to focus on your breath and let your thoughts flow. Count your breath if you are a beginner. And once you feel calm, talk. Talk out loud or in your mind, ask for protection from the universe or God.
Ask and be very specific about how you want to feel, what you want to achieve that day, what help you need, and lastly, be open to any form or way the help comes your way. Trust me, it does.

Praying and meditating are two different things. I believe praying is when you talk to the Universe, and meditation is when the Universe talks to you. SO, you need to make space for both : talking and listening to the guidance.
Don’t forget to ask for protection from any and all kinds of situations, people, energies, etc.
5 minutes a day and you are good to go.
Cleansing your home
Earlier, I thought using sage, dhuni, palo santo, etc, once or twice a month was enough. Then I saw the difference it made when I did it more frequently. But it takes time, and often people wait for special occasions or Sundays to do so.
You sweep and mop your house every day, shower every day, even wash clothes or clean your shoes every day, so why not your energetic space?

So many thoughts, negative emotions, unwanted energies, etc, are stuck in your energetic space. It can be your room, your entire house, or even your office desk.
Here are a few ways to clean your energetic space without long rituals.
1. Meditate and imagine your space being filled with positivity. Let go of all that’s not serving you, out the window.
2. Take some water in a bowl and speak protective affirmations into it (some use water kept in their temples, charged by the mantras), and spray it across the place.
3. Use candles. As you light the candle, set the intention that it provides protection and cleanses your space as it burns. Speak affirmations near it and feel that the warmth from the candle is making your room or space more positively charged.
4. Use sage, dhuni, etc, and instead of taking it to every corner of the house, put it in one place, with the intention that the smoke is clearing out any negativity wherever it reaches. You can play a mantra or frequency music next to it, using your phone or speaker, to amplify the effect.
5. Another effective remedy is what my mom taught me: put some salt (half a teaspoon) in the water that is used for mopping the floor; it helps in removing any stuck negative energy in that space. Again, use your intention as you mix that salt in water, and see some magic.
These are a few quick practices to help clean your energetic body, mind, and space.
Hope you will try a few of them out today and experience the difference.
Thank you so much for reading.
Catch you in the next one.
